Casterino: A winter and summer resort just an hour away from Menton
A gateway to the Mercantour National Park, Casterino is a preserved site with protected flora and fauna and breathtaking views.
Nestled at 1,150 meters above sea level in the Roya Valley, the Casterino Nordic Center was created in 1989.
This little white paradise is surrounded by fascinating mountain peaks such as Mont Bego (2,872 meters), Mont Agnelino (2,201 meters), Chajol (2,201 meters), and the Saint Marie Mountains (2,740 meters).
This small family resort is convivial and relaxing. There are numerous activities for all ages, from snowshoe trekking, toboggan run to dog sledding and cross-country skiing. You can also try the famous blueberry pie.
During the summer, Casterino is transformed: the snow gives way to vegetation! All nature lovers meet here to hike and enjoy the forest.
A starting point for many hiking trails, on foot, horseback, mountain bike or 4×4, Casterino is a place full of wild and unique panoramas. This gateway to the Valley of Merveilles will lead you, after a few hours of walking, to an exceptional archaeological site, a real open-air museum.
